We had 11 of our 12 group around our table, only this was our Xmas special. Lovely food from M&S which everyone donated to. We raised £55 for the Catching Lives charity. Washed down with non-alcoholic mulled wine, or tea! We then discussed our recent book, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. We use our scoring system, which helps us focus on the different aspects of the book. This book was a high scoring one, possibly one of the highest scores in the history of the group since our 2018 start! Then we had our Secret Santa where we all bring a book . This year, there were no swaps needed, although we don't yet know if the one taken for our travelling member will be ok (hope so). It is a complete pleasure to host this truly lovely group. Looking forward to the next book set for January, Silence by Shusaki Endo.
