The format is flexible, but usually goes something like this. We decide on a topic for the following meeting. Everyone then finds a poem, something they like or are intrigued by, and these are read out and discussed. There is occasionally some “lit crit”, but the conversation is more often about likes and dislikes. Some people are fascinated by the poet’s biographical details; others prefer to respond to the words alone.
