Here's a great chance to busk along with a selection of songs on your Ukulele; If you don't have a ukulele, don't panic!, we can lend you one and show you how to play it! [They are extremely simple instruments to learn]. We're even keen to meet you if you'd just like to come along and sing - after all, the rest of us will provide a beautiful accompaniment.

We meet at St. Andrews' Small church Hall each week (so there is a donation required towards hire costs, currently £3) but, beyond that, we can support you with our friendly group towards a development of your musical skills. We play songs from the last six decades (have a look at our songbook) with an ever-changing list of both easy and challenging pieces. When we do a 'hard' one, there's group guidance to the best approach - and a much slower tempo!). If there's a particular favourite that you'd like to introduce, we have guest songs and will try and translate them into the easiest keys to play.

It's not all just musical merry making though - we stop midway to get our breath back, drink tea and coffee and socialise for a bit.

When you are smitten with ukulele playing and you’d like advice about what sort of ukulele to buy, please contact me... advice on the best purchase is available as part of the group as well as negotiated discounts at our local music shop [Ukulele’s start at around £20!]

PLEASE NOTE - This is a group just for members of the Saxon Shore u3a - we can allow a trial 'go' but membership of our u3a is necessary if you'd like to continue!

We will often be seen playing at either festivals or for local 'good causes [Hospital fetes, Windmill restoration support, Tea and cake get-togethers etc]. These are great fun but entirely optional.

We are a friendly group of folk who have a range of experience both playing and teaching the ukulele. We choose songs that we think we'll enjoy and change our repertoire on an almost weekly basis (unless we are out performing somewhere in which case we stick to 'simple' songs so everyone can become a rock star for the day.)
